Connecting to QuickBooks

Sync customers, invoices, and payments with QuickBooks Online for seamless accounting.

Why connect QuickBooks?

QuickBooks Online is popular with UK trade businesses for its simplicity. Connecting Gaffer eliminates manual data entry — invoices and payments flow through automatically.

Setting up the connection

Navigate to Settings → Integrations → QuickBooks and click Connect. You'll be redirected to Intuit to authorise the connection.

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations
  2. Click Connect next to QuickBooks
  3. Sign in to QuickBooks and authorise Gaffer
  4. Map your income account and VAT settings
  5. Click Save

What syncs

The sync works the same way as Xero — customers, invoices, and payments are pushed to QuickBooks automatically. Line items, VAT, and payment dates all carry across.

QuickBooks categorises Gaffer invoices under your chosen income account, making it easy to run profit & loss reports.

Sage alternative

If you use Sage instead of QuickBooks or Xero, Gaffer supports Sage accounting sync as well. The setup process is identical — navigate to Settings → Integrations → Sage to connect.
