Common questions
Do I need a Gaffer subscription to use the trackers?
Yes — the trackers are an add-on to any Gaffer plan. Growth and Scale plans include 2 and 5 trackers respectively. Additional trackers are £9.99/month each.
What vehicles does the OBD-II tracker work with?
Any petrol or diesel vehicle with an OBD-II port — that's every car and van built after 2004 in the UK. The port is usually under the dashboard on the driver's side.
When does the monthly fee start?
When you activate the tracker in Gaffer, not when you buy it. If you order 10 trackers but only activate 5, you only pay for 5.
Can my team see they're being tracked?
That's up to you. We recommend transparency — most businesses tell their team. The tracker is visible in the OBD port, and GPS time entries are clearly tagged.
What happens if I cancel?
The monthly subscription stops immediately. The tracker hardware is yours to keep, but it won't report data without an active subscription.
How accurate is the GPS?
Typically within 3–5 metres outdoors. We use a 150-metre radius for job site matching to account for GPS drift and parking locations.
Do you offer hardwired trackers?
